This is quite a big, majestic and dominant river. Fish species found here include brown trout, atlantic salmon and arctic char. It is easily accessible from the town of Blanda and fishing permits can be acquired from the tourist office in the latter. The river is separated into several beats of which we can recommend beat 14. Beat 14 is located in a beautiful valley full of wildlife and interesting surroundings. The absence of trees makes this area relatively easy to cast in, albeit some strong winds. Here, the correct technique is the downstream wets technique using traditional salmon fishing flies. We recommend the use of Ally Shrimps or any fly with similar size and colouring. The river is at times deep and dangerous; we recommend you keep a wading stick and life jacket in proximity.
